About Us

Our Strategy

ATLAS is pursuing a strategy to help children and families reach their full God-given potential. The strategy is based on six Driving Concepts:

Driving Concepts:

  • Continuum – Through one-on-one mentoring and group programs, create a continuous pathway of learning and educational opportunities from birth through adulthood.
  • Dual Generational – Working with both the parent and the child, create a pathway of success for the entire family unit.
  • Collective Impact - Through synergy and collaboration, unite the community toward a common goal of helping our families to succeed.
  • Taking it to Scale - The collective programs offered must reach 65% of the community, causing a tipping point, and creating a supportive peer group of influence.
  • Results/Outcome Focused – Identify important outcomes and continually monitor with a mindset of continuous improvement.
  • Transformational Change – The goal is to make a significant impact in the life of each person we serve so that we become a community of families living as God intended, to our full potential.

ATLAS Ministry, Inc. is a non-denominational Christian organization serving Greensboro, Georgia and the surrounding area.   Formed in Greene County in 2006, ATLAS is a Christ-centered community resource that works with families who are committed to setting their lives on a healthy and productive new path.

ATLAS is an acrostic which stands for Attaining Truth, Love and Self Control. The name arose from the thought of an ATLAS road map. On the road of life we all, at some point, fall into a pothole. Many of us work hard at getting back on the road but need help, so we extend a hand up hoping someone will grab ahold. Most of us have an infrastructure of relationships that extend that helping hand. But many don't. ATLAS was started to extend a hand of faith and love to those needing it.

The first ATLAS organization started in 2000 in Iowa and is now in 10 communities nationwide. Each local organization adapts its services to best serve the unique needs of its community. ATLAS programs all stand firm on our “non-negotiables”: we are Christ-centered, prayer-based, spirit-led, mentor-based, non-denominational, locally governed and supported.
