Mission: To provide the information, support and encouragement parents need to help their children develop optimally during the crucial early years of life.
ATLAS Ministry, since 2015 is a Parents as Teachers (PAT) Affiliate in Greene County for families with young children, prenatal to five years old. Parents as Teachers is a national, evidence-based home visitation program that has been serving families since the early 1980’s. PAT asks for a two year or more commitment and with that participation has proven results in preparing young children for entering school and in encouraging parents as their children’s first and most influential teacher from prenatal to five years. Highlights:
PAT currently has 5 Home Educators, Tyesha Dalton, Shaakira Hill, Tameika Miller, Mitzi Sanchez and Alicia Evans , who make on average two home visits a month to each family enrolled.
The Home Educators provide instructional materials, activities, and books for approximately 65 families. They work with parents to help their children develop optimally during the crucial early years. Also, the educators offer parents encouragement, support, and referrals, as needed, to other organizations in Greene County that serve young children. Once a month, Family Group Gatherings are held for educational and social interaction for both children and parents.
For more information, please contact Alicia Evans, the PAT Supervisor, by phone (706-453-0581) or by email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
