For Middle School Students

Target:

A middle school community of leaders built on the teaching of Christ

Led by student leaders known as the THRIVE CORE Team, middle school students are invited to engage in weekly events filled with high energy activities which support and illustrate the biblical teaching received each night. Through a variety of delivery methods, students participate in discussions of Christ’s power in their lives. From small discipleship groups to engaging large group time, every week promotes growth in the students who find THR!VE to be a place of belonging and community.

The middle school years are traditionally some of the most turbulent periods of adolescence. This is the stage that young teens begin to separate themselves from the worldview of their parents and begin creating their own. This is particularly true when it comes to faith. Because of this, there are few periods of a child’s development that carry the weight of intentionality that the middle school years hold.

Created just for middle school students, THR!VE is a youth environment open to all 6th - 8th graders in Greene County. Led by a core group called the CORE Team of ATLAS students, the program is built to help each one student find belonging in a community of students exploring their own identity in Christ. ATLAS leaders disciple these students as they begin to learn why that they were created with a PURPOSE. Students meet weekly to grow in their knowledge of His Truth while participating in intentional activities meant to create community, develop leadership, and equip students to navigate some of the most challenging years of their growth journey.

THR!VE CORE TEAM

Target:

Introduction to Experiential Leadership and Personal Accountability

Middle School students are hand selected to lead within the THR!VE program. Weekly leadership meetings allow this team to make THR!VE their own through brainstorming, planning, and executing. Students play significant roles in the weekly events where they are guided to bringing their concept ideas into a reality through teamwork and personal commitment to their role in ownership. The THR!VE Core Team is the entry point for students to dip their toes into leadership through ATLAS.

Echoing Voices

Each week our students go through intentional activities that reinforce the message of our theme for the month/year. After each THR!VE event, we encourage the parents to follow up with their kids on the message and teaching they received. To assist our parents with insight into the teaching and give them the tools they need to have meaningful follow-up discussions with their teens, ATLAS provides a conversation guide each week.
